The Global First-of-its-Kind New Product Identification and Technical Exchange Conference was held in the Far East.

The new product appraisal and application technology exchange meeting was held in Far East on May 11th and 12th. 17 experts came from China Electric Power Research Institute, Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute, State Grid AC Construction Branch, State Grid Operation Branch, Shanghai Cable Research Institute, China Southern Power Grid UHV Transmission & Transformation Company, National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Wires and Cables, Central South Electric Power Design Institute, North China Electric Power Design Institute, State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Company, Guangdong Power Grid Company and other units. Jiang Huajun welcomed the experts and introduced the company's basic situation, project initiation, research and development, and expected social and economic benefits in detail to them. 

At the conference, experts such as You Chuanyong, a senior researcher from China Electric Power Research Institute, Mao Qingchuan, the former chief engineer of Shanghai Cable Research Institute, and Ye Hongsheng, the former deputy chief engineer of East China Electric Power Design Institute, all gave full recognition to the product development process and the performance achieved by the product. They also highly praised Far East's continuous innovation in composite conductor products. This conductor is the largest cross-sectional conductor in the world, with a composite core diameter of 11.0mm, featuring high strength, high modulus, high toughness, and good bending performance, meeting the 50D bending requirement. The conductor cross-section reaches 1660mm2, and the conductive layer uses semi-hard high-conductivity aluminum, which not only improves the surface hardness and strength of the aluminum wire but also ensures that the elongation matches the composite core, achieving a perfect combination with the composite core. Finally, the experts unanimously agreed that this product is a world first, and its comprehensive performance has reached the international leading level. 



Subsequently, the participants engaged in a thorough exchange on the application of carbon fiber composite core conductors. The experts expressed that carbon fiber composite conductors have demonstrated remarkable advantages both in line capacity expansion and renovation as well as in new line construction, playing a crucial role in the construction of smart grids and will undoubtedly become a new milestone in the State Grid's ultra-high voltage and extra-high voltage transmission construction. Meanwhile, the experts expressed their earnest expectations for Far East, hoping that Far East will further research and standardize the construction, installation, monitoring, and operation and maintenance of carbon fibers, enhance publicity, and expand the application of Far East's composite core conductor series in smart grid ultra-high voltage lines. This is of great significance for increasing the transmission capacity of transmission lines, enhancing the safety and reliability of power grids, reducing the total cost of overhead transmission and transformation projects, and protecting the environment.
